5 Ways to be a More Active Conservative!

As Republicans, we lack in being outspoken and active. Just because we got a huge victory in 2016, does not mean we can sit back and relax. The Democrats have a fire lit under their feet, and they are working every day to win! And not only are Democrats working like crazy to win elections, they are always excelling in being actively loud. What I mean, is that Liberals know how to have a voice and be heard. Republicans tend to be shy about speaking up, and being active in the public. This is how we gain support, members of the party, realization that lots of people are conservative and one of the ways we will continue to win.

As ladies, we already love to socialize, talk, go to parties, and make friends, so why not integrate all of this into being a more active conservative?!

Below I am listing my top 5 ways I believe us ladies can be active in supporting and spreading the Conservative message. Later I will blog about some of these 5 in more detail.

1. Start a Club or Join One

It can seem crazy, scary, or impossible, but it is not! I started a College Republicans Club at my liberal college with me, myself, and I. A year later, I have twenty members and fifty people on an interest email list. You have to just step forward, and take the chance. Praying and following God’s will is of course helpful. If you are in high school, talk to your favorite teacher about starting a Young Republicans Club! Or find what clubs your local party has for young Republicans.

If you are not in school there may be clubs in your county such as the ones here where I live, Republican Women’s Clubs.

2. Social Media

Okay, so you want to always be respectful on social media, but this is a great chance to reach lots of people and spread the Republican message. Post news stories, success from the White House and Congress, and engage in friendly dialogue among your friends online. You can also post cute pictures and support that show being conservative is the absolute best.

You also have the chance to make pictures, posts, and videos go viral. I recently learned you need to tap into what is hot, what is getting a bunch of talk and attention. Make a video on what you are noticing and call out on an issue. You never know, your post could be the next video CNN has to play!!

3. Local GOP 

As I mentioned earlier, look into your local Republican Party. They usually meet on a regular basis, have lots of volunteer opportunities for you, and it is an opportunity to meet others like you and be involved in your community.

4. Work or Volunteer for Campaigns

Once you find your local GOP, ask how you can volunteer or even work for some local, state, or even national campaigns. They have the connections, resources, and contacts for you. This is how I met the regional director for the NC GOP. This led to me having a job working during the 2016 election, and it was so much excitement!

5. Read and Educate Yourself! 

Lastly, make sure you are reading all the literature you can and educating yourself on past and current events. Read a variety of news sources, listen to the radio, read your newspaper, and do not trust a source just because you think they lean towards the way you lean or because you like the anchor, politician, or writer. Look into what they are saying, be critical of everything you are told.

One Last Thought...

As you strive to be more active remember this one key piece of advice I have learned in the past few years. It is great to like and follow your favorite politicians on social media. It is great to buy their merchandise and watch their debates. It is fun to go to their rallies, watch them on tv, and vote on election day. However, these will not gain voters and switch people to our side, and this is key to doing. So remember to have fun and do all the above, but also be active in reaching out to those whose are undecided. 

Hello, Nice to Meet You!

Hello, and welcome to my first blog post! My name is Julie and I am a Christian, southern, gun toting, freedom enthusiast, Life loving, Republican. Oh, and I guess I should mention I am also a college student who seems to not have bought all the liberal bias I hear on a daily basis. Can I get an Amen?!

    

 I read blog posts about fashion, makeup, daily life, school, relationships, and sometimes a few articles geared to us Republican Ladies, but I thought, what if there was a mix of this?! Why not have a blog that was all relatable to my fellow Republican Ladies out there? And this is how I created this blog. I get it, sometimes you can feel like the only girl among your friends, peers, and coworkers who thinks, feels, and believes like you! I am here to tell you that is not true, you just have to go find them, be outspoken yet respectful and you will see. Maybe you already have found those others like you, and great! Hopefully this blog will help you and encourage you to find those like you and, or continue to build you and your other Republican friends up. Let's admit it, we are the strong ones, we do not go to our safe spaces and hope to find each other and yet, Republicans also tend to be less outspoken than our liberal peers. It is time to not be closet Republicans, and speak out, find more like you, make being Classy and Conservative trendy and cool too! 

     

So, as I said earlier I am currently in college and facing the war against Christians, Conservatives, Republicans, Capitalists, Libertarians, Trumpers,... really anyone who does not agree with the Democrats or Bernie Sanders. And it is insane. We are the ones people are looking at, and I believe it is a chance to prove the Leftists wrong. We are given the spotlight and we need to shatter the stereotypes against us and break down the fears they all seem to have about Republicans. Especially Republican Girls. We have a chance to show them how we are empowering ourselves and saving the lives of women everyday that we fight against abortion. I am getting myself into so many other blog post topics, but you get the point, the left is watching, show them who we are and what we can do. Do Good Things and make waves, as I was once wisely told. And no, I do not believe I voted against my own rights as a woman when I voted for Trump. How this became a statement many believe, is beyond me. 

    

 Being in college has given me many opportunities to be active, involved and meet amazing people. All of which I plan to blog about. I love me some fashion and advice on everyday life, so you better believe I will be posting about that. Have you seen all the companies that make some fabulous clothing with elephants all over!? And I am all about some classic southern styles like Lilly Pulitzer and What about the New JadeLynn Brooke Company?! Wait until I blog about those empowering examples of classy and conservative girls. Also, being in college has afforded me lots of experience in being active in politics. I have started my campus' College Republicans Club (on an extremely Liberal Campus), gone to Conservative Conventions, went to President Trump's Inauguration and Official Ball ( picture above), and worked for the State GOP during the big 2016 Races! I also have made a lot of liberal friends. WAIT WHAT!??!?! Yeah, your read that right, I have made several friends on campus that accept me for me and I accept them for them. They encourage me, support me, and have my back among the many liberals on campus who choose to not listen to what I have to say, or learn to know who I really am. I find they also help challenge and build my own beliefs and I hope I do the same for them. 

    

I love living in the great state of NC and being active in what surrounds me, like the great outdoors. I love to hunt, fish, and practice my second amendment right. I enjoy going to the beaches of the East Coast, anytime. Shopping is obviously a passion, and so is my major- Education and Literature. I can not wait to educate our future. I love teaching and I love learning too. 

It is nice to be among those who think like you. It can get dangerous always listening and spending time among those that think like you. It is important to read, listen, make friends with, and watch those things that challenge you and that you may not agree with. It educates you and makes you a stronger Conservative. However, it is nice to have those connections to things you can relate to, and welcome to the blog that is just that opportunity.
